Smarter imports, better positioning

Importing pivot points automatically

When importing a CAD file or 3D model to JigSpace, the original pivot points of mesh objects are now preserved in your models. This should save you time re-doing technical design when your mechanical design files already have this information in them.

If you want to reset placement, use the new buttons to easily switch between object center and original pivot.

These pivot origins in your models, and any additional edits you make, can be saved to your team library and re-used by your team across multiple Jigs.

Note:
Editing pivot points requires using the JigSpace app for Windows or Mac.

New platform capability

This new improvement to importing 3D assets is the first of many new platform capabilities you can expect to see made available in the coming months, with importing assembly hierarchies and parent-children relationships into your object lists, mesh material settings, and textures in progress to be available soon.

More ways to explore and manipulate your 3D models

New: Object List Viewer

With the object list viewer, you can now manipulate and control the objects and 3D models in your presentation in a familiar hierarchical interface while being immersed with your content in Apple Vision Pro.

Jigspace Apple Vision Pro Viewer

Granular Control: Dive deep into your models and take control of individual objects like never before. The object list viewer shows all the objects within your Jig, allowing you to select and manipulate them with precision.

Transparency Adjustment: Fine-tune the transparency of each object independently, revealing hidden details or highlighting specific components. This feature is perfect for understanding complex internal parts or showcasing the inner workings of your models on the fly.

Object Visibility: Toggle the visibility of any object in your scene, focusing on areas of interest or decluttering your view. This is especially useful when working with large or intricate models, where you may want to isolate specific parts for closer inspection or hide exterior parts to show hidden parts behind them.

The object list will remain visible on any Jig you view unless you disable the object list being shown in the viewer settings by toggling it off in the same settings menu.

Note:
Opt-in only: As a content owner, your Jigs will only have this feature if you add the tag "__objectlist" to your Jig info and saving. If you do not wish your viewers to be able to use an object list with your Jigs, you do not need to change anything.

New: Full rotation

Unlock the full potential of design reviews, learning, and collaboration with our enhanced rotation controls.

Full 3D Rotation: Navigate your Jigs seamlessly across all three axes (X, Y, and Z) for more freedom of movement when interacting and manipulating your Jig on Vision Pro. With full 3D rotation, you can view your models from any angle, turn them on their side or rotate around horizontal axis to gain a more understanding of their structure and design.

Enable in the settings menu

Enable "Full Rotation" in the Settings menu while viewing a Jig to activate this feature. This allows you to choose between the default rotation behavior and the new full 3D rotation, depending on your preferences and the specific Jig you're working with.

Full rotation will remain enabled on any Jig you view unless you disable the setting by toggling it off in the same settings menu.

Improved: Support for imported pivot origins

This update also supports viewing Jigs on Vision Pro that have meshes with automatically imported pivot origins, a feature available in the upcoming versions of JigSpace for Windows, Mac, iPad, and iPhone (3.34).

This enhancement ensures that your Jigs behave consistently across all devices, regardless of how they were created.

New powerful creation tools

JigSpace is constantly improving with new tools that give creators more control, teams more flexibility, and spatial experiences more depth. Whether you’re explaining complex technology, demonstrating an assembly, or training the next generation of engineers, these updates help you get more out of Jig.

Parenting and object hierarchy

Now you can drag and drop objects into parent-child hierarchies, making advanced animations and transformations easier than ever. Organize complex assemblies like robotic arms, mechanical parts, or fasteners into logical groups to streamline your workflow. With parenting, keeping large models structured is effortless, and animations feel more natural.

Orthographic camera views

Easily switch from default 3D perspective when editing to new top, front, and side orthographic views using hotkeys (2, 3, 4) or the default canvas menu.

These views help you align, position, and transform objects with accuracy, especially when working with pivot points or aligning multiple models together. Whether refining an industrial prototype or preparing technical training content, orthographic views make spatial design sharper and smarter.

Add “Go to Jig” actions for Apple Vision Pro

Connect multiple Jigs into an interactive, continuous experience using the new ‘Go to Jig’ action. When clicked, objects transition seamlessly to another Jig, keeping users in immersive mode on Apple Vision Pro. This is perfect for breaking large models into smaller, digestible pieces or creating branching, choose-your-own-path training modules. A breadcrumb trail helps users navigate back, making it easier than ever to explore complex ideas in spatial format.

Team admin role

A new Team Admin role gives you complete visibility over all content owned by your team. In addition to transferring Jigs, manage users, and organize projects with ease in the redesigned web dashboard, Team Admins can now filter their Team Jigs in the JigSpace apps to show all Jigs owned by the team, Jigs not shared with the team, or the default Jigs shared with the team.

New ways to get the most out of spatial computing

'Go-to-Jig' actions

Jigs can now be linked and loaded from inside a Jig. When immersed in a Jig on Apple Vision Pro, you can now seamlessly go from your current Jig, to another Jig, without re-tracking or leaving your environment.

You can even go from one Jig to another Jig in multiplayer using SharePlay, and your team will go with you.

Learn more about Go-to-Jig actions here.

Improvements

Training Jigs: currently in beta, training Jigs are now able to be viewed fully in multiplayer using SharePlay, and support any viewer picking up objects and placing them in target positions to proceed through the simulation.

Image anchoring

We've added capability in Apple Vision Pro to support image anchoring.

Image anchoring enables you to fix the position of your Jig in the real world when using Apple Vision Pro by tracking to a special image.

Image anchoring is designed for:

Go to our help center to download the Jig tracking image anchor, and learn how to use this powerful new capability.

In person multiplayer support

You can now host in-person multiplayer presentations using SharePlay and ensure everyone sees your 3D content in the exact the shared context. When doing this, your interactions and content is synchronized in real time, including object scale, pulling apart objects, your current presentation steps, drawing and annotations.

Reload latest version improvements

When editing your Jigs, and previewing on Apple Vision Pro, the app now remembers the world tracking (and image anchors) you previously used when reloading your content, so that you don't have to continuously re-place your Jig in augmented reality after each save and reload.

Custom pivot points

We’re excited to introduce custom pivot points, a powerful new feature for creators to add more realism and precision to your 3D presentations.

You can now edit the origin position and rotation pivot point of your 3D models, making it easier to create animations like opening doors, moving robotic arms, or spinning objects. This feature gives you greater control over how your models move, scale, and rotate.

How to use Pivot Points

  1. Click on an object in your Jig.
  2. Open the Object Properties panel on the right-hand side.
  3. Click Change Pivot
  4. Click and drag the pivot in the viewport using your mouse, or use numerical input to set the origin position (x, y, z coordinates) more precisely.
  5. You can also adjust the rotational pivot origin with the rotate gizmo or numerical input
  6. Once finished, click Save to apply your changes.

You can also revert the pivot origin to its original imported state at any time.
